How we work
Each department has clear lines of authority and accountability. Additionally, specific responsibilities and tasks have been assigned to all managers for their individual areas of management, including:
- Relevant environmental protection and risk reduction measures
- Ensuring compliance with the DSMS
- Reporting to regulatory agencies and use of corrective action when required
Apart from supervising compliance with the requirements of the DSMS policies, the company’s management is also responsible for meeting the environmental and safety requirements set by Danaos Shipping’s employees and contractors. For that reason, we have established incentive programs for all managers and other key people to promote and encourage them to meet or exceed DSMS standards and procedures - in particular, the ones related to environmental performance.
