In July 2017 Danaos, as committed to the principle of safe vessel operations, has joined the Container Ship Safety Forum (CSSF), an association initiated to leverage safety performance among members.
Being well-acquainted with the use of KPIs to measure performance in its operations, Danaos believes that setting industry safety standards and benchmarking can boost effectiveness in many levels.
To date, CSSF accounts for 18 members who represent more than 40% of the TEU capacity of the global container ship fleet. CSSF members share the common vision of a container shipping industry with high safety standards ensuring no harm is caused to people, ships, cargo and the environment.
Towards this, safety considerations are communicated among the members who work jointly on an effort to shape industry's best practice guidelines.
